Setting Up
Prerequisites
-
MoviePlayer (IRIX 6.2) or MediaPlayer (IRIX 6.3)
-
Netscape 3.0S
Before you begin, take a few minutes to configure MoviePlayer as a
standalone application.
Note: If you're running IRIX 6.3, MoviePlayer is called
MediaPlayer. However, Netscape understands both versions as movieplayer
in the Helpers panel. The instructions below are correct for both
MoviePlayer and MediaPlayer.
-
To check whether MoviePlayer is installed choose Find > File
QuickFind from the Toolchest. (If you are running IRIX 6.2,
choose Find > An Icon from the Toolchest.)
-
Type movieplayer in the text box. If an icon
appears, the application is already installed. If no icon appears,
install MoviePlayer from the IRIX Operating System CD (dmedia_eoe.sw.tools
subsystem).
-
Open Netscape and choose Options > General Preferences
from the Netscape menu bar.
-
Click the Helpers tab.
-
Click the New button.
-
Skip the Description text box.
-
In the Type text box, type
video/mvptr
-
In the Suffix text box, type
mvptr
-
Click the Application box to place a red check in it.
-
Copy and paste the following line into the Application text box:
/usr/sbin/movieplayer `cat %s`
If you type the line, be sure to type a grave accent (`),
located on the ~ key, not a quotation mark.
-
Click OK.
-
Click OK to dismiss the Netscape General Preferences menu.
Continue to the O2 CPU Upgrade Video when
you're finished setting up.
