PDF Generator for IRIXTM
README

The PDF Generator for IRIX TM has been created from Adobe® Normalizer, part of the Adobe® Extreme TM product set. PDF Generator's function is to translate PostScript to PDF. This distribution includes a minimal set of tools:

  1. ps2pdf, a command line interface
  2. xps2pdf, a graphical user interface (GUI)
  3. Fonts together with an ATM database
  4. A special file containing the image of initial state for the PS virtual machine.

Notes about the products

For a description of the utilities and command-line options that come with the PDF Generator product, please see the README.html file installed with the product in the /usr/adobe/Normalizer directory. To view the README.html in Netscape, enter file:/usr/adobe/Normalizer/README.html in the location box. Note there are no relnotes, man pages or other documentation for this product except for the README.html file.

After the products are installed:

File Size

In order to avoid distribution of libraries provided by Adobe® all binaries are built using static (also known as archive) libraries. This accounts for the amount of disk space they occupy.

Fonts

The Fonts are installed into the /usr/adobe/Normalizer/lib/fonts directory. If you have any other PostScript fonts you would like to use then simply copy or link the font files to this directory.

PDF Generator 1.2 runs on IRIX 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5

To install this software:

  1. When you are finished browsing this README, click Dismiss below.

  4. Press Start.
