PDF Generator for IRIXTM
README
The PDF Generator for IRIX TM has been
created from Adobe® Normalizer, part of the Adobe® Extreme
TM product set. PDF Generator's function
is to translate PostScript to PDF. This distribution includes a minimal
set of tools:
- ps2pdf, a command line interface
- xps2pdf, a graphical user interface (GUI)
- Fonts together with an ATM database
- A special file containing the image of initial state for the PS
virtual machine.
Contents:
For a description of the utilities and command-line options
that come with the PDF Generator product, please see the README.html
file installed with the product in the /usr/adobe/Normalizer
directory. To view the README.html in Netscape, enter
file:/usr/adobe/Normalizer/README.html in the location
box. Note there are no relnotes, man pages or other documentation
for this product except for the README.html file.
After the products are installed:
- To run the command line version, use the /usr/bin/ps2pdf command.
For a list of options, use the /usr/bin/ps2pdf -h command.
- To run the GUI version, use the /usr/bin/xps2pdf command.
File Size
In order to avoid distribution of libraries provided by
Adobe® all binaries are built using static (also known as archive)
libraries. This accounts for the amount of disk space they occupy.
Fonts
The Fonts are installed into the /usr/adobe/Normalizer/lib/fonts
directory. If you have any other PostScript fonts you would like to use
then simply copy or link the font files to this directory.
